My last thyroid check was 4.2 (on my bday!!!). Turned over the labs, and now I am back in the review process pile. LOL! After they make sure I have everything they need, they will turn it over to the insurance company & the approval process begins!!! Keeping fingers crossed.

My husband had the gastric bypass surgery a little over 2 years ago, and is doing great. Lost 167 lbs. He is smaller than what he was when we dated in high school & got married! LOL!

I plan on doing the gastric bypass also (RN&Y thing). Hubby's sister last week just had the lap band done. Our friend also had a lapband too, and she has lost 87 lbs. We know a lot of friends from the support group here at the hospital that have had the gastric bypass done. Each has their own unique story & quirks! LOL!

I wilsh you good luck! Yell anytime!!!

I have done my 6 months with a nutrionist, my evaluation from a therapist, my doctors letter, a diet plan, my appt with the surgeons nutritionist, all the blood work, my huge co-list qualifies me, and my bmi, they even had heart tests done. Everything is done for my requirements, they just can't turn it over to the insurance until my thyroid is within normal range (w/ medication). I go again in 2 weeks for another blood test to see where the TSH is. I started @ 11.7 and normal is 5.6 (last test was 5.7), but they would like me anywhere in the 4 range. So now I am FINALLY after months of working on my thyroid a maybe chance of getting this back on track. If so then my next step would be a visit with the surgeon, they turn everything over, and then the waiting game for the approval from the insurance.

Here is hoping & praying for you too! This has been over a year struggle with my primary from hell, and now the health issues.

Hi Inec! Welcome to Weightcircles!
I saw your conversation on gastric bypass surgery and I haven't had it myself but hopefully you will get some responses to your question.
It also helps a lot to get involved by blogging, or leaving comments for others. You might try leaving comments for some of the others in the gastric bypass circle - they will get an email letting them know of your comment! Blogging will also give people an idea of your story. If you blog and leave comments for others, you'll find a lot of support coming back your way.

Good luck and hope to see you on the site more!
Oh, by the way, if you don't want to upload a picture of your own, you can still go to "Your Pictures" and choose one of our lovely fruits and vegetables for your thumbnail picture!
