There is No Magic Pill
Feb 13, 2008

As I was on my way home from the great state of Ohio to the winter wonderland of Wisconsin I decided to pick up a couple of magazines (will remain unnamed). Now its been a while since I've read through a fitness magazine and now i remember why. As I browsed through the pages I got a glimpse of what the fitness industry has become and I am disgusted. Every other page is a pill that promises a cure for weight loss in 30 days, firmer abs in 2 weeks, and bigger arms by by summer and it made me realize that the fitness industry has become just as sedentary as the people we are trying to help. Something needs to stop and it starts with the consumer demanding a real product and real support.

Think About it: Our nation spends over 17 billion dollars a year in the fitness industry but according to the The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute believes that by 2035 every 9 out of ever 10 men and every 7 out of 10 women will be overweight.

You as consumers need to demand more from the industry I work in order to protect yourselves from the gimmicks and lies that have caused the fitness industry to become like every other industry in the world.

If you don't remember anything I've written please remember this: In the fitness and nutrition industry you do not have a quality product unless it's backed by professional support.

So tell those supplement companies to come out of their offices and start backing their products with real support!
