Canada Day weight loss tip

Happy Canada Day (eh) to all of you. It's our Fourth of July up here today and although we are meek and mild and un-nationalistic types, let me just whisper a little holiday greeting before I carry on.

Ok, more importantly, here's a tip I'm passing along as my gift to you. It's a recipe:


Low Cal Blueberry Smoothie

1/2 c almond milk
1 tsp flax oil
1/4 c tofu
1/2 c frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana (optional)

!. Blend milk, oil and tofu till smooth.
2. Add frozen blueberries and blend, adding water if necessary to thin.
3. Add frozen banana to sweeten if needed.
4. Check for thickness and sweetness to taste. RESIST THE URGE to check while blender still running and lid is off. REFRAIN AT ALL COST from deciding "jeez, this might be nicer with another few chunks of banana" and tossing them in whlle blender running and lid still off. STRONGLY RESIST addition of extra fruit while lid off if you have used tiny wild blueberries, which will stain the #$@# out of the ceiling, cupboards and floor that they will coat if you fail to STRONGLY RESIST the addition of extra fruit while lid is off and blender is running.
5. Enjoy, then mop up kitchen (optional, depending on cleanliness standards).

BONUS TIP: When making the all-banana version of this smoothie, RESIST AT ALL COST the voice in your head saying "man, you know what might perk this drink up? A couple of spoons of Nutella!"
